Samantha
Although I rarely post my personal work on this site nowadays, I thought I would share this. Shooting this week with one of my favourite models, Samantha. We tend to thrive in that kind of chemistry that produces photos of real character. Here, some manual lens work at The Kandid Social, on a day that went from grey to sunny.

Omega x Rio2016
I was delighted to be asked to shoot for Omega in their Rio 2016 campaign. A real treat to use my new studio space #thekandidsocial too!
Riven Magazine - Justin Lim X Nina Sever
Artistic boudoir remains a big lure for me, if only as an ongoing personal project. I do enjoy working with models as talented as Nina Sever, who is really someone whose aesthetic appeals to me on a whole new level.

Justin Lim Photography - 500px IG Takeover
It is not a bad thing to be busy, although it sometimes means I'm spread a bit too thin. In between shoots for MR PORTER, Shanghai Tang, Mandarin Oriental HK and many more, I was asked to take over the IG page of 500px, the world's fastest growing photography site with 7m dedicated users. Tremendous honour and accolade, and something I'm always very proud to do as an ambassador for HK and wider Asia.

MR PORTER at The Kandid
A recent special commission from worldwide fashion powerhouse MR PORTER in conjunction with Uber and Art Basel HK. Loved shooting this at The Kandid with my full array of props. The subsequent posts on MR PORTER's Instagram generated close to 10k likes.

500px - Guest Editor for March 2016
Photography is a competitive business. There are a lot of photographers out there, which is why the rare accolades that come from your peers are all the more worthwhile. Thank you to 500px.com - the world's most dynamic and influential photography platform - for naming me their Guest Editor for the month of March 2016. I am delighted to be curating moments on their Editor's Choice gallery for them for the next few weeks.

Emirates - Open Skies, January 2016 Feature
I find it a little strange to be regarded as an "entrepreneur", as my dedication to my photography is my foremost concern, one which I also regard as very much influenced by traditional artistry rather than entrepreneurial endeavours. Nonetheless, I am extremely honoured to be featured by Emirates Airlines for the month of January 2016 in their Open Skies in-flight magazine. It's definitely a nod to some of the more diverse projects I've been conducting via The Kandid, which have been interesting detours from my typical wedding and baby briefs.

Sculpture Park Living
I was recently invited by New World Development to showcase my block building skills, as part of a feature on the notion of Sculpture Park Living in Hong Kong. This was a rare foray into life on the other side of the camera!
If you are interested in playing the game and winning a chance to fly to London to visit the sculpture park in Yorkshire, visit http://bit.ly/1QqNC8I and follow the game rules on the relevant post on my FB page.
You can also see the following video in which I talk about a Hong Kong sculpture park in the following video, which features several feted Hong Kong based creatives:
Overall a very worthwhile experience given my commitment to open spaces and my design experience with The Kandid!
Bottega Veneta Cruise Collection
It has been a very busy few months, but would just like to tell you about this recent shoot I did at The Kandid for Bottega Veneta and Lifestyle Asia.
To see the feature, click here. It's wonderful to be creating, styling and shooting for brands of this calibre, who really appreciate that photography is one aspect to a great shot, but styling is another facet entirely. Luckily the studio now supports both!
TUVE
I was recently fortunate to be granted insider access to all the rooms at the spectacular TUVE Hotel. For a long time, Hong Kong has lacked a truly boutique design hotel experience. We needed a game changer for design buffs. This hotel is an incredible tribute to minimalist design and industrial aesthetics which has been missing from the local scene for quite a while. What a privilege to see all their rooms and take in some of their philosophy. I just loved the rustic greys, the attention to detail from the woods to the little iron bath hooks. Highly recommended to any visitors, I'll have to arrange my own staycation!

A little review of the Lomo LC-A Minitar Art Lens
Lomography has been established for a while in Hong Kong now, and has grown from a cult dalliance into quite a large, universal enterprise. You often see people in HK with little Holgas and Dianas strapped to their Fjallraven Kankens. It's great that the new generation has embraced toy cameras, as they were a part of my own photographic growth.
As an owner of the original LC-A, I was intrigued by this addition to the lomography.com lineup - a flat-nosed Russian optic, easy to fit on a digital M-Mount body. Having taken it for a spin, I was largely impressed by the ease of use and the playful vignetting. Of course, saturation needed a tweak to make those colours look Agfa-rich, but I'm happy with these.
The next step is probably to mount it on a Fujifilm-X and see how we go with that. Viva Minitar!
Save the Hong Kong trams!
The Walrus Grand Opening HK
If I had a dollar for every time I was invited to a nautical themed street party in Hong Kong... well to be honest I'd still have a dollar. But The Walrus - brought to you by the same people behind The Woods - is awesome, so thank you to their team for asking me to capture their big opening event! When the DJ spun a funkadelic version of Lennon's original song, we set sail and partied on into the evening. I'm definitely #downtoshuck now!
